The break from football is set to continue to the 30th April at the earliest for clubs in the EFL, although the scheduled return date could be pushed further back if the off-the-field crisis is to worsen in the coming weeks.

There is still plenty to play for at both ends of the Championship table, with the battle to survive catching the eye with just nine games remaining in this year's campaign.

Stoke City are one of the clubs that are struggling at the moment in the second tier, with Michael O'Neill's side currently sat 17th in the second tier standings.

The Potters are just three points clear of the relegation zone as well, and they'll be nervously looking over their shoulders for the remainder of this year's campaign.

A number of players haven't performed to the standards expected of them this season, much to the frustration of the club's supporters.

Stoke pair Josh Tymon and Tom Edwards have been continuing their training regime away from the club after recent events, with Edwards recently taking to Instagram to issue an update on their progress.

Edwards has made 17 appearances this season for Stoke, and will be hoping that he can play his part in their survival bid this season with nine games still to play this term.

Stoke are due to return to action on the 2nd May when they take on promotion-chasing Nottingham Forest, in what is certain to be a tough test for the Potters at the City Ground.

The Verdict:

It's good to see them still working hard away from the club's training ground.

Edwards hasn't featured as much as he would have liked to this season for Stoke, but he'll be keen to show Michael O'Neill what he can offer the team heading into their final nine games of this year's campaign.

The break from competitive action could be somewhat of a blessing in disguise for the Potters, who have had a season to forget so far this season.

I thought they would have been challenging for a top-six finish this term, but for one reason or another, they have struggled throughout the season in the Championship.

They need to show vast improvement when they do eventually return to action.
