Everton and Stoke City have entered into talks regarding a potential swap deal involving Ashley Williams and Badou N'Diaye. according to Sky Sports' live transfer blog (01/08; 19:20).

Senegalese defender N'Diaye only arrived at the bet365 Stadium in January, joining for £14m from Galatasaray, but with 13 outings and 2 goals under his belt, he is thought to be on the verge of an exit following their relegation.

Everton have expressed interest in the player this summer, but it is now thought there could be a swap deal in the offing, with their Welsh international centre half Ashley Williams moving the other way.

33-year old Williams cost the Toffees £12m when he joined from Swansea City in 2016, after nine seasons with the Swans spanning three divisions. He's since made 60 Premier League appearances in Everton blue, scoring twice.

Williams, capped 79 times by Wales, is said to have struggled to win over the Everton supporters in his two years at the club, but has 658 senior appearances to his name and would bring experience and knowledge to the Stoke City defence.

Stoke City are one of the favourites to get promoted with most bookmakers, and are looking like a strong bet to get out of the second tier, especially with the impressive summer transfer window they have had, it may be worth using Novibet sports betting to place the punt.

The Verdict

This has to be a cash plus player deal, there's no value in a straight swap for Stoke City here. The amount of money they receive makes it either a decent deal, or a really good one.

Ashley Williams is no spring-chicken, but he is a solid and dependable centre half who would add value to the Stoke City squad and would not be found wanting for effort or application.
