Stoke City are among a host of clubs interested in signing Hamilton Academical striker Mickel Miller, according to Football Insider.
Michael O’Neill will be keen to strengthen his squad this summer, as his side look to secure their Sky Bet Championship status for another year.
One player who has emerged as a reported target for the Potters is Hamilton forward Mikel Miller, whose future at New Douglas Park is looking uncertain.
He played a key role in helping Hamilton avoid relegation to the Scottish Championship, but a summer departure looks likely for the striker.
The attacker’s contract is set to expire at the end of next month, with the likes of Stoke, Burton Albion, AFC Wimbledon, Hamburg and Pafos being credited with an interest in the player.
Stoke’s Championship status isn’t secure just yet; O’Neill’s side sit 17th in the league standings, but only three points clear of the relegation zone ahead of the final nine games of the season.
I’m not too sure about this potential signing – I think Stoke need to show more ambition.
Miller hasn’t been a prolific goalscorer in the SPFL and has quite a poor record in front of goal, and I personally think there are better options out there for the Staffordshire club.
On a free transfer, though, it’s worth a shot. He’s quite an interesting player, with a mixed bag of clubs said to be after his signature.
