Redmond impressed despite Norwich being relegated last season

Stoke City have had a bid rejected for England under 21 winger Nathan Redmond, reports The Telegraph.

Reports suggest Mark Hughes has long been an admirer of the former Birmingham City man, but a bid in the region of £3.5 million has been turned down by the Norfolk club. Southampton are also rumoured to have had a bid turned down for Redmond as they look to replace Adam Lallana.

The Canaries are keen to keep hold of one of their main assets as they look to bounce straight back into the Premier League at the first attempt following relegation last season.

Having already lost their key wide man Robert Snodgrass to Hull City earlier this summer, Norwich boss Neil Adams won’t want to lose another star player unless clubs can match their £6 million valuation of Redmond.
