Stewart Donald delivers important Sunderland transfer update

Sunderland fans will be eager to see who they are going to sign this summer as they prepare for life in League One.

There’s a slightly renewed sense of optimism about the club at the moment with a new manager coming in in the shape of Jack Ross and Stewart Donald arriving as owner.

For sure, though, they need to start signing players and Donald has revealed that there will be signings after responding to a tweet from a fan asking why Jason Naismith wasn’t signed.

Clearly, then, the Black Cats have got a number of players in mind as the summer window rumbles on and fans will hope that they are men who can make a real difference.

The club’s transfer policy has been poor of late and so that needs to change as they look to challenge for promotion in League One.

The Verdict

Donald has made plenty of positive-sounding comments since arriving and that will please fans.

He needs to start bringing players in now, though, to really start underlining the ambition he has for the club for 2018/19.
