In 2016, Spurs legend Teddy Sheringham tipped young defender Connor Ogilvie to be the latest Spurs youngster to make the transition from academy football to the heights of the Premier League.

Whereas others have made the jump, Ogilvie has failed to reach such levels, and looks set to leave Tottenham when his contract expires at the end of the month.

This is certainly not the end of the road for the 21-year-old, with many youngsters making their name in the Football League before a return to the Premier League.

Ogilvie enjoyed two successful loan spells with Stevenage in the last two years, and the Boro should consider a full-time deal for the player to boost their squad ahead of another launch for a top seven finish.

The Hertfordshire based side will harbour ambitions of a Play-Off spot at the very least having narrowly missed out on them last season, and a return to League One for the first time since 2014.

Adding young Ogilvie on a permanent basis could prove an excellent piece of business, as if the youngster rediscovers the talent that saw him through the Spurs academy, Stevenage could turn an extremely tidy profit on the player.

Stevenage know exactly what the youngster is all about after two successful loan spells, and a permanent deal seems likely this summer.
