Stevenage midfielder Chris Whelpdale believes promotion is the only aim for Stevenage this season.
The Hertfordshire club was relegated last season from League One but have signed 12 new players, including Whelpdale.
“There’s only one aim this season and that is to get out of this league,” said the 27 year-old, talking to The Advertiser.
“That’s been drilled into us from day one and that’s what we want to achieve. We have definitely got enough quality.”
Despite the new squad, the former Gillingham player says the mood in the team is high.
“We have been together for a few weeks now but everyone has hit it off so well. Day in, day out in training and it has been paying off already,” he said.
“The communication between everyone is brilliant, very organised. The gaffer is drilling that into us.”
Stevenage begin their League Two campaign at home to Hartlepool.
