Steve Morison expects to produce a performance like Zlatan Ibrahimovic next weekend against his former side Leeds United.
Leeds head to Millwall next weekend, still boasting an unbeaten record in the Sky Bet Championship under Marcelo Bielsa.
However, Morison, who spent time with Leeds between 2013 and 2015, has made an interesting claim ahead of the clash, stating he will pull on his Ibrahimovic kit and “take care of it.”
Speaking to South London Press and Mercury, the 35-year-old said: “I’ll turn up, pull out my Zlatan Ibrahimovic kit, whack that on and take care of it.
“Every now and again I seem to have the game of my life.”
Last season saw Morison in inspired form for Millwall, who finished eighth in the Championship table and narrowly outside the play-offs.
The striker’s performances against Leeds were extremely impressive, with Morison helping Millwall do the double over his former club.
Millwall beat Leeds 1-0 at the Den, before heading to Elland Road an winning 4-3.
Morison was extremely impressive on his Elland Road return, producing a determined performance to help his side secure a late, memorable victory over their rivals.
Heading into the 2018/19 contest next weekend, Millwall have five points to their name.
Morison’s claim is interesting, but it’s not too difficult to understand where he is coming from.
Last season, the striker was very good for Millwall against Leeds, producing a performance he never produced in a Leeds shirt, much to the annoyance of the Elland Road crowd.
After the international break he will be looking to do the same and end Leeds’ unbeaten start.
