Steve Morison has issued a confident message to their play-off rivals this weekend as his Millwall side look to sneak into the top six.

They've got Middlesbrough and Aston Villa to face, with two points separating them and Derby in the final play-off spot.

However, despite now being outsiders, Morison believes there's every chance the Lions can sneak in through the back door and if they do, he thinks in-form Fulham would be worried about a rematch.

“We believe if we get into the play-offs then we’ll be there,” Morison told the South London Press and Mercury. “I don’t think if we play Fulham over two legs they will be overly happy about that. Anything can happen. They could’ve been 3-0 down after 20 minutes, quite easily. That is not me talking out of my backside – it’s a fact."

Confident Morison believes his side could have beaten the West Londoners, despite being downed by three second-half goals last Friday night.

“Anyone who watched the game can see we could have had at least two goals, then it is a different kettle of fish because we don’t have to come out, we can sit in our shape. They couldn’t break us down in the first half and who is to say they could do it again in the second half?"

The Verdict

Defiant, confident, bullish, foolish. You pick which term you feel best fits Morison's comments because I can't work out which to use.

They're outsiders to get there, that is for sure. They play two of the sides above them and even two wins would rely on other results. If they did manage to steal a top six spot I'm inclined to believe that nobody would fancy the trip to the Den.

Who knows, Millwall in the Premier League? Stranger things have happened.
