Millwall captain Steve Morison has admitted that his side will be "in a relegation fight" come the end of the season, reports the News Shopper.

Neil Harris' men fell to yet another defeat on Wednesday night at the hands of an in-form QPR side, leaving the Lions just one point above the relegation zone having not registered a league win in five games.

And the Lions' captain Morison came out after the game and admitted that the London club will be in a relegation fight come the end of the season.

"We’re going to be in a relegation fight,” said the 35-year old.

“Getting to 50 points is our aim and seven or eight games in it’s still our aim, but we’re making it tougher each week - we’re not panicking, but something needs to go pop in the dressing room, a realism that we aren’t just going to turn up and win games", the veteran striker added.

Goals from Massimo Luongo and Ebere Eze succumbed Millwall to their fourth defeat in their last five league games, whilst Morison came off the bench to make his 300th career game on the bench.

The Verdict

Wow - when you talk about honesty.

Perhaps it isn't the greatest thing to hear from your club captain, after defying the odds to finish just outside the playoffs last season, although I can't see many Millwall fans disagreeing with Morison's comments, things need to change and fast.
