Cardiff City boss Steve Morison has confirmed that the club will be trying until the deadline to get a new striker in but he insists they will be able to cope if a deal doesn't materialise.
The Bluebirds boss has had a ridiculously busy first full summer transfer window, with Morison overhauling the squad after many players left as their deals expires.
And, the early signs have been reasonably positive, with the Welsh side picking up eight points from their first six games. However, with the side having scored just three goals, it clearly shows their problem.
Therefore, a new number nine is the priority and Morison gave an update on the search ahead of Thursday's deadline when speaking to the BBC.
"It makes me laugh when people think we aren't looking for players in certain areas of the pitch - we are. And we haven't just started looking; we have been looking since the start of this whole process and missed out on a couple but outside of that there's not been anyone that's taken our fancy.
"We will keep plugging away and see how we get on between now and Thursday. Fans can see we are going in the right direction and are creating chances. As we get better and get more confident, we'll create more and ultimately score more goals."
The verdict
You get the idea that Morison will be pushing to get a new striker in and whilst he is happy to say he's content, the reality is a new attacker could transform this team.
Cardiff have been playing good football but they just aren't finishing off the chances at the moment.
So, it will be interesting to see how the final few days play out and the fans will be hoping for a new addition to boost the squad.
