Queens Park Rangers’ season has been on an upward trajectory since their poor start to the campaign, and they will look to keep their momentum going when the face-off against Rotherham United this evening.

Steve McClaren’s men fought back to earn a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Stoke at the weekend.

It was a result that saw them move up to ninth in the table, having tasted defeat once in their last eight matches.

Rotherham, meanwhile, are also on a run without defeat - six games to be exact since they came away from a game with no points.

Despite their improved run, Paul Warne’s men are just two points above the drop zone and will be doing all they can to once again be competitive after getting a thoroughly deserved point against Sheffield United last weekend.

Both sides have improved in recent weeks, and if QPR are to move within a point of the play-offs, they are going to have to be wary of the threats the Millers could well pose tonight.

So with that said, McClaren needs to be wary of these two potential Rotherham match-winners.

The tall, powerful striker is one of the main outlets for Rotherham and has been all season - he is one of their key players that Paul Warne uses to the team's advantage.

The Millers are set up to get the best out of Smith, and if Saturday’s result is anything to go by, he sure played his part.

A focal point for Rotherham to launch their attacks, if QPR’s defence aren’t on the top of their game this evening, then they could well fall foul of the Millers’ and Smith’s attacking prowess.

The 26-year-old notched his second goal the season in added time to earn a draw against Sheffield United - having only on the pitch for three minutes.

Jamie Proctor could be rewarded with a start this evening, and if he is, he will have the bit between his teeth to prove to Paul Warne he deserves a prolonged run in the side.

The goal at the weekend would have done him a world of good, and it could be the launchpad for a return to form and an extended stay in the first team.

On that basis, he could be a real threat that Steve McClaren will need to be wary of tonight.
