Derby County manager, Steve McClaren, has hinted that his club could be signing more players during this transfer market, as he spoke to Burton Mail.

The Rams have already signed seven players this window, with the likes of George Thorne, Lee Naylor and Zak Whitbred all making a move to the iPro Stadium this summer. McClaren was also reportedly interested in Middlesbrough forward, Lukas Jutkiewicz, but he has recently joined Premier League new boys, Burnley.

McClaren has admitted that he would like to add to his current squad, even though he is already happy with the players at Derby.

"We are always looking to improve. I am pleased with what I have got but maybe one or two little additions will help us,"

"If it is what we want and costs money, we will go begging to the board again! And if it is a loan, we will also be begging!

"For now, we are going to concentrate on this squad in Austria where we have two games. We'll see how we come out of that and move on from there."

The former England boss also said that he was happy with their other new signing, Cyrus Christie, after he impressed in their pre-season affair with Notts County. The 21-year-old made an early impact for the Rams, as he made a blistering run down the line to set up striker Chris Martin.

"Cyrus did well in his first game," said McClaren after the 3-1 victory.

"He gave us close to an hour and fans seem to have taken to him.

"He is direct and quick, and if he keeps producing that then we have got a threat on the right as we have on the left with Craig Forsyth."
