Steve McClaren has revealed he is delighted with the impact his new loan signings have made but insists they will get better as they approach full fitness.

After a dreadful start to the season that saw the R's lose four consecutive games, including 7-1 at West Brom, things have really picked up.

And, it's no coincidence that they upturn in form came after Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells signed on loan deals.

Deadline day signing Geoff Cameron has also made a difference to the side and the capital club have picked up ten points from their past four games.

Speaking to West London Sport, McClaren praised their contribution and also added that there is more to come as the trio look to get to full fitness.

"I think all three of them have had an effect since the first day they came through the doorAs soon as they came, you could see the team think ‘These are experienced Premier League players coming to help us’."

"And I’ll tell you something, they’re not fit yet. None of them had completed 90 minutes. They’ve got to get fitter and better and they can only do that. But while they’re doing that and we’re picking up results, we’re delighted."

USA international Cameron was visibly struggling towards the end of the 2-0 victory over Millwall last night and he could start from the bench agaist Norwich this weekend.

The Verdict

You could argue that QPR's awful start was a blessing in disguise as it forced the club into the market and they've made some astute signings.

Cameron, Wells and Hemed are all significant upgrades on what McClaren had and they have already shown their quality in the past four games.

Now, it's about managing them carefully as they do get up to full fitness as there's no doubt all are key players for this team.
