Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren has admitted he will have no advantage against Derby County on Saturday despite having recently managed the club, report the club's official website.

He lost his job as Derby manager as recently as 2017, but after the spells of Gary Rowett, and now Frank Lampard, he believes any inside knowledge he has is losing its value.

“I know a few of their players but I think a lot has changed,” he said.

“Two managers have come in, players have changed and they have a different style.

“Frank has adapted well. He has had ups and downs and it is his first experience of the Championship but he is handling it well."

The R's picked up a much-needed win in midweek against a struggling Reading side, with Toni Leistner netting the winner.

McClaren's side had lost back-to-back games before that against Swansea City and Norwich City, but look to have got back on track.

The Verdict

Derby will be a tough test for Queens Park Rangers, but it is far from a certain defeat.

Whilst the Derby results have been good so far this season, their performances have often fallen a bit flat and have frequently been bailed out by the brilliance of Mason Mount.

McClaren has got his side playing after an awful opening four matches.
