Derby County have reacted strongly as the controversy surrounding the sale of Pride Park to owner Mel Morris continues.

The Rams revealed back in April that they had recorded pre-tax profits of £14.6m which came about because Morris had purchased the stadium for around £80m.

Many Championship sides felt that was excessive, with Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani claiming it was cheating and Middlesbrough were very vocal in their anger at the issue.

So much so, it was reported last week that they intended to sue the EFL for 'allegedly failing to uphold their financial rules'.

However, the east Midlands side have issued a strong response today on their official site, insisting that they did nothing wrong and also stating that the EFL have already said they've done nothing wrong.

The statement prompted a strong response from a host of fans, including Derby, Leeds and Boro followers.
