Peterborough United manager Steve Evans has praised Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka and his chairman Darragh MacAnthony, for allowing the deal for Reds forward Jason Cummings to join the Posh.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post, former Mansfield and Rotherham boss Evans was full of praise and was clearly excited to see his the club make such a big signing for the coming season.

Evans said he was 'delighted' to sign Cummings, and said that he had to 'give credit and thanks to the chairman' for completing such a big deal for the club.

Cummings joined the Posh on a loan deal yesterday to the shock of many Forest fans, who had expected to see the young forward return to the club after spending the second half of last season out on loan with Rangers.

However, Cummings has opted to make the move to League One, and with Peterborough expected to lose the likes of Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison, it is a much needed and shrewd addition by the club.

Evans also praised Reds gaffer Aitor Karanka for allowing the move to happen. Karanka will be hoping Cummings can find some form and fire the Posh into the Championship. benefitting all parties in the long term.

Forest fans, what did you make of this departure? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
