Leeds United and their manager Steve Evans are preparing for another summer of unrest and uncertainty, with owner Massimo Cellino likely to make a rash decision at any given time.

Whether this sees Evans out of a job come the summer months remains to be seen, but for the time being, Evans will be keen to finish the season strongly and ensure that if someone does end up taking over that the club is in the best possible position it can be.

Leeds have been inconsistent throughout the season, and with nothing to play for in the final games of the season, it may be time for Evans to decide on who is going to be in his 11 from the current crop next season.

With a squad likely to again be overhauled in the summer, it is important Evans chooses wisely his players who are going to contribute to next seasons goals.

Thinking about who his squad for next season might well be, FLW writer Lee Connor identifies THREE Leeds United players who Steve Evans simply must start with from now on....

Toumani Diagouraga

A January signing from Brentford, the big centre midfielder has impressed on the occasions he has played, with the Leeds midfield looking far more assured with him in the middle.

Evans must surely recognise he has unearthed a gem of a player in Diagouraga, and he is a shoe in to be a starter next term.

The manager thought must ensure Diagouraga is in the team from now on, and build around him going into next season in the hope of mounting a stronger push towards the top six than this season has brought.

Alex Mowatt

Mowatt has not had as good a season as he would have liked, as he has struggled with both form and  few injuries, meaning his time on the field has not been what it might have been.

When he has played, he has not quite delivered the standard of performances we have come to expect from him.

However, with Leeds facing a battle to keep fellow youngster Lewis Cook in the summer, Steve Evans might be wise to ensure Mowatt is one of his key figures as he looks to build a side for next year.

Mowatt can be the main man in the starting line up, and certainly has the ability, he just needs to show it, with the games between now and the end of the season maybe the ideal time for him to do so.

Lee Erwin

The young striker is expected to make a big splash with the Elland Road club, but has so far failed to grab a spot in the first team.

With funds likely to be limited and Evans having to wheel and deal in the summer, it might be wise of him to utilise Erwin in run in and see if he can deliver in preparation for more action next term.

With plenty of clubs sniffing round Erwin in the loan window, a move never materialised, and it may be that Evans kept him just for the purpose of getting Erwin some first team action with Leeds before the season ends.
