Birmingham City fell to a third defeat in four when they went down 1-0 to Fulham on Saturday and remain in the Championship relegation zone.

Once again, Steve Cotterill's side failed to score and their woes in front of goal were shown by Jeremie Boga's dismal penalty that he skied over the bar with 15 minutes to go.

It means Blues still only have ten goals all season, comfortably the lowest in the league and just one goal in four games.

Despite only taking over during the season, the pressure is already building on Cotterill and he delivered a series of strange answers after the match when speaking to the press, as the below tweet from James Fielden shows.

Fans will be particularly angry at the manager refusing to send a message to the 4,000 fans who made the journey to Fulham, whilst also asking 'What do you want me to do about that?' in response to a question about their goalscoring issues.

The West Midlands side are back in action on Saturday when they face a critical game against QPR at St. Andrew's. The R's have lost five of their previous six and a win will put Blues just three points behind Ian Holloway's side.

The Verdict

Birmingham fans have every right to be annoyed with Cotterill's comments after the Fulham defeat.

The manager should be taking responsibility and giving an honest assessment of the team. Instead, he seems to be making strange comments and it won't be filling fans with confidence.

He shared similarly odd views after Blues failed to have a shot against Wolves last week and fans will want to see a much more adventurous performance on Saturday.
