Swansea's good start to the season was undone today as Nottingham Forest rolled into the Liberty Stadium and snatched a 1-0 win.

A late winner from Alfa Semedo was enough for Sabri Lamouchi's men to come away from the game with all three points, as the Reds moved up to ninth in the Championship table.

However, for Swansea and manager Steve Cooper, it proved a frustrating afternoon at the office as they failed to break down a Forest side who seemed intent on getting a win against their high flying opponents.

And Cooper pulled no punches in his assessment of his side's performance following the game, admitting his team didn't do nearly enough to warrant winning the game.

"I don’t think we did enough to win the game that’s for sure, and that’s probably the most frustrating bit." Cooper told Wales Online following the game.

"We have conceded. We have made a mistake and conceded an awful goal really. I am not sure we deserved to lose either, but the main focus is that we did not do enough to win the game, which was the goal today.

"I think we had issues at the top end of the pitch. I think we had enough possession and good positions, but on the day we lacked a little bit of creativity, a little bit of risk-taking and a little bit of confidence to go and make a difference up there." Cooper added.

Swansea do however remain top of the league after Charlton also dropped points in a home defeat against Birmingham City, while Leeds play tomorrow against Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

The Verdict

Good solid assessment of things from Cooper and could be a good barometer of how the Swansea manager will react and treat his team.

Swansea are capable of so much more than they showed today, but they'll have to move on quickly and put it behind them.

Take nothing away from Forest though, it was a quality away performance from a team seemingly thriving under Sabri Lamouchi.
