Steve Cooper has stated that he's relieved that his Swansea City side were able to come away with a point at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Wednesday must've thought that they'd won the game through Morgan Fox's strike in the 91st minute.

However, Ben Wilmot's header just two minutes after meant that Swansea came away with what looked like an unlikely point.

It's set to be an interesting campaign for Swansea, especially after seeing the impressive start that they've had to the current season. The Swans have been terrific and Cooper has seemingly made them candidates for promotion to the Premier League.

The boss insisted that his side were pleased with a point that they had to work hard for.

Speaking to the Evening Express, Cooper said: "I guess there's a little bit of relief, having gone 2-1 down and thinking the last thing we deserved was not to get a win today.

"In the end, we're quite pleased that we got a point but we created some really good chances. We're having to work hard for every point."

The Verdict

It's been a really impressive start to the season for Swansea. They've made themselves very hard to beat and have shown a tonne of fighting spirit throughout the squad.

It's so important that they keep this kind of belief throughout the season. If they can then that would mean that they have a great opportunity of being promoted at the end of the current campaign.

Cooper has really galvanised them and that's something many Swans fans were worried about when Graham Potter left to join Brighton in the summer.

Hillsborough is a worthy place to draw but in the way they did it was quite spectacular. They didn't let their heads drop when most sides would have and Cooper will see that as a massive benefit to his side.
