Swansea head coach Steve Cooper has suggested he could still make further additions to his side before the end of the transfer window providing some players secure their exits from the club.

The Welsh side have already made three loan additions since the start of the month with Rhian Brewster, Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher all joining the club, and it now appears Cooper is still interested in adding further numbers if some players depart.

The Swansea boss has already seen Sam Surridge, Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Kristoffer Peterson leave SA1 in recent weeks, and he has now indicated that the club will not stand in the way if other fringe players want to move on from South Wales this month.

"Like I said, there's players who we won't stand in their way if they want to go," Cooper said via WalesOnline.

"I imagine there'll be some decisions for them this week. If that happens then it may create an opportunity to bring players in, but we won't do that unless spaces are freed up."

Swansea saw their play-off hopes suffer a blow over the weekend as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Stoke, but Cooper's men are still sitting seventh in the Championship table as they prepare for a serious promotion bid in the second half of the campaign.

The Verdict

The Swans have produced some excellent transfer business this month by luring highly talented duo Brewster and Gallagher to South Wales, with these deals suggesting Cooper is targeting a serious promotion push this campaign.

However, his side's 2-0 defeat to Stoke over the weekend would have indicated that there is still plenty of room for improvement in this Swansea side, and he would certainly like to add further quality to his side in an ideal scenario this month.

There are a number of fringe players who may be willing to move on from Swansea before the end of the month with the likes of Tom Carroll, Barrie McKay and Declan John having seen their playing time severely limited in recent weeks.

If any of these players move on, Swansea should put maximum effort into adding further numbers before the end of the window.
