Reading manager Steve Clarke is set to remain at the club despite talking to Fulham about the vacant managerial role at Craven Cottage, according to Get Reading.

Steve Clarke looks set to stay at Reading despite holding talks with Fulham

The former Chelsea defender joined the club 11 months ago, taking over from the sacked Nigel Adkins, and has started the season well after a summer of heavy change.

Just 24 hours ago, Reading fans were stunned by the news that Clarke was set to move to Craven Cottage to replace the recently sacked Kit Symons, ditching Reading in the process.

This is despite the Royals sitting four places above Fulham, and Clarke receiving all the necessary financial backing he needed in the summer.

This outraged Reading fans, who were weighing up the new manager they wanted to take over, but now after an enormous u-turn, he looks set to stay at the club after talks at Craven Cottage seemingly broke down.

After his behaviour, Clarke may face a task in winning over the Reading fans, who will understandably be upset with his actions.

The club have rescheduled this morning's press conference, which was cancelled due to the on-going saga, for tomorrow morning, where it is likely that Clarke will have to field many questions about the goings-on of the last 24 hours.

Reading fans... what do you make over this news? Has it been a rollercoaster 24 hours? Are you unhappy with Clarke? Where should the club go from here? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
