Steve Clarke wants to ruin Bradford City's impressive FA Cup run

Reading are into the quarter-finals of the competition after beating Championship high-flyers Derby County in the last round, at the iPro Stadium, courtesy of goals from Hal Robson-Kanu and new signing Yakubu.

The Royals also beat Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City in their FA Cup run.

Now, after a fairytale draw with Bradford City, the Royals must overcome a League One side that have already knocked out Chelsea and Sunderland in the competition.

The game will see Reading idol Phil Parkinson return against the side he played for from 1992-2003. He made 361 appearances for the Royals, where he won player of the season twice in the 1997/98 season and the 1998/99 season.

He's a fans favourite and in a vote for Readings best ever eleven, he won best central midfielder with 60% of the vote.

It's an emotional game, which Steve Clarke says will take a lot for Reading to win and 'spoil the party.' He told Get Reading:

“What Bradford have achieved in the competition so far is fantastic.

“But it’s up to us to go up there and be the spoilers of the party.

“We’ve done well in the cup as well. We’ve had three difficult games, not glamour ties, but difficult away ties away to fellow Championship clubs.

“When you go into those sort of games you know you have to play well and dig out results. We’ve managed to do that in the cup.

“We are where we are. We deserve to be there and we look forward to the game.”

Reading's last league game came on Tuesday night where they took on fellow strugglers Bolton Wanderers.

The game saw ex-Royals striker Adam Le Fondre come up against his old side, and he assisted Bolton's goal as substitute Eidur Gudjohnsen found the net before Jamie Mackie came up with the get out of jail free card, to score in the 93rd minute and draw it level.

Reading are now 18th in the Sky Bet Championship, having accumulated 41 points thus far this season.
