According to The Sun, Steve Bruce is lining up a January move for Brighton midfielder Beram Kayal.
After missing out on Kayal while he was manager of Hull this summer, Steve Bruce wants to make the Brighton man his first signing for Aston Villa.
The Israeli international’s Brighton contract expires in the summer so the Seagulls might be forced to sell him in January to avoid losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old is a defensive midfielder who worked in a very effective central midfield partnership with Dale Stephens last season for Brighton.
This earned him many admirers over the summer, including Steve Bruce’s then-club Hull City.
The former Maccabi Haifa and Celtic man now reportedly tops Bruce’s wishlist now that he’s moved to Aston Villa.
The article also confirms that Bruce is looking to bring in some left back cover, with Francis Nganga of Charleroi being considered.
Aston Villa fans – what do you think? Would Kayal be a good signing? What can he add to your midfield?
