Steve Bruce has provided an injury update on both Robert Snodgrass and John Terry ahead of this weekend’s clash with Queens Park Rangers, reports Aston Villa’s official Twitter feed.

Snodgrass and Terry were both forced from the field in the first-half of Aston Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday prior to the international break, with Bruce left to sweat over the duo’s respective injuries.

The Villa boss has confirmed that Snodgrass, 30, has trained ahead of Villa’s trip to Loftus Road tomorrow, but will continue to be assessed to see if he can play any part against QPR.

There was a mixed update on Terry, who has broken his fifth metatarsal and is expected to be out until the New Year.

Bruce could confirm that over the last two weeks Terry has progressed well, but admitted his 36-year-old captain was still some time off a full recovery and return to action.

Despite a mounting injury list and entering the international break on the back of a defeat, Villa remain to an excellent position in the Sky Bet Championship table heading to QPR this weekend.

Villa enter the weekend’s round of fixtures in sixth, seven points behind second placed, Sheffield United.

The Verdict

Ahead of tomorrow’s clash with QPR it appears that Snodgrass is in contention, which is a huge boost for Villa and their supporters, particularly with other mounting injury concerns.

A trip to Loftus Road has proved to be difficult for some of the best in the Championship this season, and Bruce will want Snodgrass available.

Terry’s update is also positive, as although his return is not imminent, he appears to be making steady progress from a very serious injury.
