Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has offered an update on the fitness of three of his key players ahead of this week's fixture with Preston North End in the Sky Bet Championship.

Key duo Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah both missed yesterday's loss at Fulham, while key winger Ahmed Elmohamady was withdrawn following a nasty clash at Craven Cottage.

Villa fans will have been keen to hear about their trio ahead of the game with North End, but it appears it is not all good news according to the update from Bruce.

With Grealish being assessed day by day but Adomah set to miss the game, it appears Villa will need to make changes once more to the line-up which had seen them in such excellent form prior to the loss at Craven Cottage yesterday.

The loss allowed local rivals Wolves to put further distance between themselves and the chasing pack, while Cardiff beat Middlesbrough to move into second spot and keep both Villa and Derby at bay.

The Villa boss, and supporters, will be hoping the trio can be back in first team action as soon as possible as the club seeks a winning run to the end of the season and a place back in the Premier League.

Villa fans, can you cope without these players? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
