Hull City currently sit just outside the top two positions in the Championship, but know full well that they are right in the mix to secure a return to the top-flight come the end of the season.

Steve Bruce has done an excellent job in keeping his squad together from last year, while adding the odd player here and there to enable a push towards the top two.

There are plenty of players at the KC Stadium who have the talent to play at a higher level, and they will be hoping that come August they have done enough to secure the chance to showcase that talent in the Premier League.

In order for them to do this, Hull need to keep winning, and close the gap on Brighton and Middlesbrough above them.

Steve Bruce will know who his best team is by now, and between now and the end of the season, must ensure he gets his star names into his first 11.

Here, FLW writer Lee Connor identifies THREE players who Steve Bruce MUST play from now on......

Abel Hernandez

Hull were without their star striker for the recent defeat to rivals Middlesbrough, and it showed, as they demonstrated little in front of goal.

Hernandez has been a stand out performer in the league all season long, and has international class to go along with it.

At £9m, he came with a hefty price tag but has gone some way to repaying that this season.

Bruce knows he needs a fit and firing Hernandez if Hull are to win promotion, and he will be hoping he can field his star striker from now on in every game.

Andrew Robertson

Andrew Robertson

The flying left wing back is one of the most sought after talents in the Championship, and if Hull are to create the chances needed to win games between now and the end of the season, they need Robertson on the field.

Capable of beating his man and delivering the ammunition for the strikers to feast on, Robertson has continued to impress after his solid debut season in the top flight last season.

The Scottish full back will love another crack at the Premier League, and Hull need him to be in the starting lineup every game if they are to get back up there.

Robert Snodgrass

Robert Snodgrass

The Scottish midfielder has missed large chunks of the season with injury this year, but has returned to the fold to good effect as he looks to pick up match sharpness.

A match winner on his day, Snodgrass will need to stay fit and find form to guide Hull into the top two.

He has a wand of a left foot, and can create a chance from nothing either for himself or his team mates.

Only 18 appearances this season will have disappointed manager Bruce, who may well feel Hull might be higher up the ladder had he been fit, but Bruce will be hoping to utilise Snodgrass as much as possible in the final run in.
