Callum Robinson has not done a bad job since joining West Brom in the 2019/20 season and has scored 17 goals in all competitions over the last three seasons.

However, despite still have three years remaining on his contract with the club, this summer The Athletic reported that he was one of the players at The Hawthorns that would be made available for transfer during this window.

Since then Ryan Lowe, manager of Robinson's former club Preston North End, admitted that his club would be interested in recruiting the player is he was to become available.

However, Baggies boss Steve Bruce has now responded to these comments and it seems as though he's less willing to let his player go this summer as he told Birmingham Live: "What can I say to someone else's comments? I'm sure he does like him, in this day and age it's alright talking about other people's players.

"I'm sure there are a lot who like him, but so do I."

Whether we will see Robinson at West Brom or Preston come the new season is yet to be seen as Bruce is likely to want a hefty offer to let the player go this summer but it certainly looks like an exit is more in doubt than before.

The Verdict:

Robinson has done a fairly good job for West Brom over the past number of years and with Bruce targeting a promotion push next season you could see the player fitting into a squad like that fairly well.

That being said, it looks as though there could be the possibility of an exit for the 27-year-old this summer and with those reports, it comes as no surprise that Lowe would be keen to bring him back to Preston.

However, the latest comments from the Albion boss seems to shut down these suggestions and hint that the manager is actually happy with having the player on the books and likes him in the side.

Therefore, this is definitely one to watch over the rest of the transfer window this summer.
