Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is expecting midfielder Jack Grealish to sign a new contract in the coming days.

According to a report by the Daily Star, Grealish is set to be 'looked after' by the club, as Bruce put it, and the Villa manager fully expects Grealish to put pen to paper in the coming week.

The report claims Grealish will be offered a double your money £40,000 a week contract at Villa Park, as the club look to tie down their star man and keep him out of the clutches of onlooking Premier League clubs.

Grealish was widely expected to join Spurs during the transfer window, but with Villa getting new investment, the club were in no rush to sell, and ultimately batted away any form of bid from the London club.

And now it looks like Villa are set to boost their season by signing Grealish up to a new deal, despite the player being 'disappointed' that his move to Spurs did not materialise.

Villa got their season off to a winning start last weekend and take on Wigan today, where Bruce will have a decision to make over whether or not to start Grealish after what has been a tumulutous few months for the young midfielder.

Villa fans, what do you think to this? Are you right to award Grealish a new deal? Let us know in the comments!
