With January fast approaching all clubs in the third-tier will be finalising their plans for the winter window as they look to buy and sell well.

Barnsley have been thoroughly impressive under Daniel Stendel since their relegation to League One last season.

The Tykes were dumped out of the Championship on the final day of the season but the German has steadied a panicking ship admirably and they now look set to push for an immediate return to the second-tier.

They currently sit third in the League One table, just two points behind second-placed Sunderland and four behind table-toppers Portsmouth.

But is there work to be done? Of course.

January could give Barnsley a crucial edge over the other promotion-chasing sides, but that will rely on outgoings as well as incomings.

With that in mind, here are TWO players who the German will surely axe in the January window...

Isgrove arrived at Oakwell from Southampton as a highly-rated talent.

Whilst he has shown that in flashes, he has not done enough to impress Stendel, appearing just three times in the league.

It looks like his time could be up.

Bird looks like he will be on his way out.

It will most likely be a loan move, but Barnsley's midfield has become far too competitive for the youngster.

There really is little point in him being there.
