Have QPR won or lost more games against Arsenal?

Following the win at Middlesbrough, Johansen took to his personal Instagram account to issue a message hailing the Rs’ for coming out on top in what was a lively contest at the Riverside. He was also keen to stress the importance of moving on quickly to the next game.

The verdict

Johansen is proving to be every bit as important and impressive for QPR as he was during his loan spell with the club last season.

The 30-year-old has brought real extra quality to their midfield and he is able to help them control matches better with and without the ball with his vast experience at Championship level.

Against Middlesbrough, the Rs needed a major performance from the midfielder to come away with all three points in difficult circumstances after they had been reduced to ten men. That is exactly what he was able to produce for them.

Mark Warburton is wanting his players to challenge strongly for promotion this season and they will need Johansen to keep delivering these levels of performances to make that happen.

The midfielder’s winning mentality seems to be infectious within the rest of the squad and you can only see him growing from strength to strength if he keeps fit.

Johansen seems to be developing into a real leader within the dressing room for QPR and he is right to insist that they need to now park their win at Middlesbrough and move on to the next task. That is the sort of attitude you see from successful sides at this level.
