Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will be bracing himself for a bid for young winger Jack Clarke, amid reports that Arsenal are on the verge of making a bid, according to Football Insider.

Clarke has been a revelation this season at Elland Road, with the 18-year-old making a major contribution to Leeds promotion push when called upon by Bielsa.

So would a move to Arsenal be beneficial for Clarke's career?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"I think it probably would.

"If he is going to leave Leeds it should be to either Tottenham or Arsenal in my opinion as they are the ones most likely to give him game time.

"Moving to a Southampton would not really be a step forward if Leeds get promoted so I think a move to Arsenal would help him."

Gary Hutchinson

“Arsenal would be a foolish move for Jack Clarke. Any of the top six or seven would be.

“He wouldn’t play and young players need to play. Lionel Messi played senior football at 17, that is one reason he developed as he did.

“If Jack Clarke plays Under 23 football until he’s 22, then goes out on loan, his career will dive.

“Stay put, having seen the level of detail Bielsa puts into the opposition, I shudder to think how in control of his own players he is.”

Jay Taylor

“If he were to go to Arsenal, he should be prepared for a life of cup competition appearances.

“The League Cup would be his best friend, and the FA Cup would throw up the odd appearances, as well as regular games in the Europa League, should the Gunners miss out on Europe’s elite competition.

“I think there would be better options for the youngster right now for his career and going to Arsenal would be the wrong move.

“It would be counterproductive to his impressive development should he leave Leeds for the bright lights of the capital.”
