Twitter user, @ChampStats, have revealed a comparison between the performances of Brighton and Hove Albion’s strikers Tomer Hemed and Chuba Akpom, from the recent victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Akpom partnered top goalscorer Glenn Murray in attack for Chris Hughton’s side in Saturday’s clash with Blackburn Rovers, but failed to impress and was replaced by Hemed after 58 minutes.

Hemed’s cameo appearance proved to crucial, with the 29-year old involved in the build up to Murray’s match winning goal.

Championship stats compared Akpom and Hemed’s performances, which showed how the two strikers had contrasting fortunes on Saturday.

Akpom managed just 12 touches in 58 minutes, losing possession twice and failing to register a shot. In half that time, Hemed achieved ten touches along with a key pass and a shot, helping Hughton’s side record a victory.

The 1-0 triumph over Blackburn helped the Seagulls move nine points clear of third-placed Huddersfield Town, strengthening their hold on an automatic promotion place in the Sky Bet Championship.

Hughton’s side host Birmingham City at the Amex Stadium this evening, where victory will see Brighton return to the top of the Championship table.
