Aston Villa are hitting form at the right time and are pushing for a late attempt to make the play-offs after a recent upturn in form.

Dean Smith’s men have won their last three in a row and are now just two points from breaking into the top-six with only a handful of games remaining.

Goals win games, but the unsung heroes in putting the ball in the back of the net are the men who set their teammates up.

Conor Hourihane has been much maligned this term when Villa were in a rut, his performances dropped, and some sections of the support dug him out as a weak link in the side.

After being left out of the starting XI here and there for a short spell, he has returned to form in recent weeks.

But what may surprise many at the club, is that the Irishman has the second-most assists in the Championship this season with ten.

He is just behind Said Benrahma and Pablo Hernandez who are joint-top of the charts with 11 each.
