West Bromwich Albion have made a positive start to their first season under head coach Slaven Bilic and remain unbeaten in the Championship so far.

The Baggies extended their unbeaten league run to seven matches at the weekend, after coming from behind to draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage - thanks to a late equaliser from Semi Ajayi.

Bilic took charge at the Hawthorns earlier this summer and brought in several new players during the transfer window, as he looks to build a team capable of challenging for promotion this season.

After seven league games, you imagine that Bilic will be very impressed with what he's seen from his players so far, but there's still room for improvement.

Extraordinarily, the team which has scored first has failed to win in every game involving West Brom this season.

Not only that, but the Baggies have came from behind in six of their seven games in the Championship so far and have picked up twelve of their 13 points from losing positions.

Albion have showed tremendous character and desire to get back into games when they've been behind. You get the impression that this is a side who will refuse to give up and that don't know when they're beaten, which are two very good traits to have.

However, on the flip side, if they're to challenge for automatic promotion this season, there's no doubt whatsoever that West Brom have to stop giving their opponents a head start in games.

The Championship is an extremely competitive and unforgiving league and it's amazing that West Brom have somehow remained unbeaten this season, despite conceding the first goal in six of their seven league games.

The Baggies can't afford to keep giving their opponents a head start, because sooner or later they'll get punished.

The game against Blackburn Rovers before the international break was a prime example.

Kyle Bartley's under-hit back pass allowed Bradley Dack the chance to put the visitors ahead after just 25 seconds - it was totally avoidable and a total lapse in concentration.

The Baggies were magnificent going forward that day and came back to win the game 3-2, but on a another day they easily could have drawn that game or maybe even lost it, as both teams had numerous chances.

Due to how good West Brom have been at coming from behind, this hasn't been a major problem so far, but it's definitely something that Bilic will be aware of and no doubt he'll be keen to address this issue over the next few games.

On the positive side, it shows that the team have great character under Bilic and that will be very pleasing for Baggies fans.

Good teams somehow find a way to get results when, even when they're not playing at their best and Albion have done that so far this season and they did it again on Saturday at the home of promotion rival in Fulham.

The Baggies are now the only team the Championship with an unbeaten record and the players will be able to take a great deal of confidence from this.

West Brom have shown under Bilic so far that they've got what it takes to challenge for promotion this season, but they need to find a way to stop conceding the first goal.
