Slaven Bilic made nine changes to his West Brom side against Millwall last night in the League Cup and it backfired as the Lions won 2-1.
However, the priority for the Croatian is the Championship and he will have learnt a lot from the game. Unfortunately for those on the fringes, the manager won’t have been too impressed with what he saw.
Having said that, one man did impress once again – keeper Jonathan Bond.
The former Peterborough stopper has been second choice since arriving at The Hawthorns, with most of his appearances coming in the cup competitions.
But, he has shown his talent and it was the case last night, as Albion’s Twitter account shared a short clip of a very good double save from the 26-year-old.
What a double save this was last night ????????

That prompted a lot of responses from the support and it’s fair to say some feel that Bond deserves a chance ahead of Sam Johnstone in the league game at Luton this weekend.
Here’s some of the reaction…
That second save gets better with every view

Should be no 1

Here come all the "should be number 1" comments, as if Sam Johnstone didn't single handedly win us games last season with some unreal strings of saves. Get a grip the lot of you.

Deserves a shot as first choice in my view!

What a keeper this is why I want him starting championship games.
