Sunderland supporters have reacted strongly to the news that EFL fixtures will be suspended until April 30th at the earliest.

The news was revealed in a statement that was published on the Black Cats' website which said that no professional fixtures will be played until that date as measures to delay the latest outbreak step up.

This includes all matches in the Championship, League One and League Two, as well as all Academy and youth team fixtures.

However it's widely expected that this date could be extended once again due to the severity of the situation.

Last night the EFL revealed that it was their 'primary objective' to ensure that the current season will be completed, however whether that can happen remains to be seen.

As you'd imagine, the latest update has been met with a significant response from the Sunderland supporters on social media.

Here's what some of them had to say.
