Blackburn Rovers midfielder John Buckley has expressed his delight at making his first-team debut at the weekend.
The 19-year-old came off the bench for Tony Mowbray’s side in the 4-2 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and turned in an accomplished performance in midfield.
The Championship club tweeted this photo earlier today, with Buckley expressing his joy at making his first appearance for the senior side.

Despite the result on Saturday, Buckley is understandably thrilled with making his first-team debut.
It was a brilliant moment for the teenager, who has been with the club since the age of six and is no doubt something he will remember for the rest of his career.
It has been a brilliant few weeks for the young player, who signed a new long-term deal earlier this month to keep him at Ewood Park until 2022.
Buckley has already proved himself to be a technically gifted footballer with some excellent performances for Rovers’ under-23 side.
The opportunity to play in an important game in front of a big crowd should act as a big confidence boost for the player and give him extra motivation to keep improving in training.
He is clearly a player with a lot of potential and could have a big future ahead of him at Blackburn. His encouraging display on Saturday will have no doubt pleased his manager and Rovers supporters.
The youngster will be hoping that he gets more chances to impress in the first-team before the end of the season.
