Football pundit and former Nottingham Forest player Stan Collymore has backed Zach Clough to play Premier League football in the future, according to The Nottingham Post.
Zach Clough joined Nottingham Forest in a deadline day permanent switch from Bolton Wanderers and he is already stirring up excitement amongst the Forest faithful.
Forest beat off a number of clubs to land the highly rated 21-year-old and Stan Collymore sees him as a fantastic addition.
Clough made an impressive start to life at the City Ground as he played 87 minutes and helped contribute towards Britt Assombalonga’s equaliser in Forest’s dramatic 2-1 win over Aston Villa.
Stan Collymore, speaking after Clough’s debut, said:
“Everybody that I’ve spoken to about him, that’s watched him, said he’s very exciting and at the right age.
He’s had a really good stint at Bolton, and he’s gone ‘right, now’s the time to go to Forest’ and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s here three, four or maybe five years.
With a new ownership, surround him with good quality players, he’s certainly got the ability to go all the way and play in the Premier League.”
