QPR are set to confirm the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Luke Amos according to London Football News.

Amos would become QPR's fourth signing of the transfer window so far, after Yoann Barbet, Liam Kelly and Lee Wallace all arrived at Loftus Road ahead of the new season.

But the 22-year-old has featured for Spurs' first-team in the past, having made his debut in August last season, but saw his opportunities restricted after that.

This is due to a serious injury that he picked up shortly after his first-team debut, which ruled him out for the rest of the season in a frustrating spell for Amos.

He's certainly got a point to prove, and Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino rates the youngster highly, as he's keen to find him regular game time in senior football.

Amos spent the 2017/2018 on loan with League Two side, Stevenage, where he made 16 appearances in an impressive loan spell.

There will be some doubts as to whether the young midfielder can cut it in the Championship, but only time will tell, with a deal set to be announced.

Hoops boss, Mark Warburton is clearly hoping to conduct his transfer business at the earliest of opportunities, and adding Amos to his squad would add some much-needed depth ahead of the new season which gets underway in August.

The Verdict:

This could prove to be a smart bit of business by QPR if he hits the ground running.

Amos hasn't gone any experience of playing in the Championship, so it's going to be somewhat of a 'baptism of fire', but I think he has the potential to do well at Loftus Road next season.

QPR need strength in depth, and Amos would certainly provide that in midfield.
