Spurs are in pole position to sign Norwich City's exciting right back Max Aarons, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

The 19-year-old has also caught the eye of London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, but it is Mauricio Pochettino's side who currently lead the chase for the promising young talent.

The Mirror report suggests that Norwich have put a £15m price tag on the defender's head to try to ward off the attentions of the big boys.

Norwich currently lead the Championship on goal difference after their scintillating win against Leeds at the weekend and Aarons has been a key component in their rise up the table.

He is the latest in a long line of exciting players to emerge from Carrow Road, including James Maddison and the Murphy twins.

Hammersmith-born Aarons played much of his youth career at Luton Town, switching to the Canaries in 2016. He's only broken into Daniel Farke's first team this season, making 25 Championship appearances, scoring twice.

He's primarily a right back but can operate on the left side of defence too and has been capped four times at England Under 19 level this season.

The Verdict

As the Canaries continue to fly high, their key assets are bound to be attracting interest and Aarons is a key asset. He was nowhere last season, just another young man hoping to break through but he's shown an energy and endeavour that has marked him out as a star of the future.

Whatever they put in the water in Norfolk clearly works as yet another exciting young player comes through the ranks to be tagged as a possible Premier League star.
