Cardiff City got back to winning ways on Sunday, as they beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at Hillsborough to claim their first victory in the league since the beginning of December.

Goals from Robert Glatzel and Junior Hoilett within the ten minute mark proved to be enough for Neil Harris's side, with Wednesday getting one back in the 18th minute courtesy of Tom Lees.

The result moves the Bluebirds up to tenth in the Championship standings, just two points off the play-offs.

One of the talking points of the game was the eye injury suffered to left-back Joe Bennett, after an accidental clash of heads with Cardiff teammate Junior Hoilett.

It saw the 29-year-old stretchered off in the 36th minute of the game after he was unable to continue.

The collision resulted in a severely swollen eye for the defender, who claimed Hoilett's head was "made of concrete."

Bennett's post also eased some initial fears, as the defender revealed no fracture had been suffered as a result of the coming together.
