Charlton Athletic take on Blackburn Rovers this weekend in front of a sellout crowd at The Valley, and could have a special guest at the ground for the big game.

It it is likely to be Charlton’s biggest home attendance since their League One play-off semi final second leg against Doncaster last season, and the club’s majority shareholder could be paying another visit to SE7.

His Excellency Tahnoon Nimer has shared a social media update about the club, which has got fans excited. Here is what he had to say on Instagram:

He simply stated that he was “Looking forward for Saturday ❤”, which could mean he may well join Chairman Matt Southall in the director’s box.

His Excellency visited The Valley for the first time on the 31st January, attending the home match against Barnsley the day later, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Addicks.

The Verdict

It is a post that suggests that His Excellency will once again be in attendance, and if so, it will bring added optimism to what should be an entertaining afternoon.

Tuesday’s win against Nottingham Forest has given the whole squad confidence, and the players will be looking to repay the faith shown in the team by the fans.

It helps that the Addicks have won their last two matches against Blackburn.
