Southampton are set to reignite their interest in signing Birmingham City striker, Che Adams according to the Daily Echo.

Adams was impressive for Birmingham last season, as he scored 22 goals in total for the Blues.

But his good run of form seemingly hasn't gone unnoticed, with a number of clubs said to be interested in signing the striker over the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the Saints have already seen a bid in the region of £8m rejected by Birmingham for Adams, but they evidently haven't been put off.

Southampton are looking to add more attacking firepower to their ranks, with one striker likely to be departing the club in the near future as they prepare for another season in the Premier League.

The report from the Daily Echo claims that Birmingham value Adams at £15m, so it will be interesting to see if Southampton can tempt them into selling with another offer.

Adams will surely be wanting to be playing at a higher level, and Southampton can offer that, with Premier League football.

He's clearly a player with a bright future ahead of him, and Adams will be plotting his next move carefully, as it could make or break his career.

The Verdict:

He'd be an excellent signing for the Saints.

Adams is a proven goalscorer, who will feel that he is capable of adjusting to the step up to the Premier League, and I firmly believe he could be a really good addition to Southampton's squad.

I think it's only a matter of time before he leaves Birmingham.
