Geoff Cameron remains a Stoke City player at the moment but it looks as though Southampton are going to try and change that this summer.
The American defender is now 32-years-old and after getting relegated with Stoke last season he may have started to wonder whether he’d ever play in the Premier League again.
According to the Stoke Sentinel, though, there’s a chance he might get to feature in the top flight as early as this season coming.
Indeed, they report that Southampton are interested in the player with him enjoying strong form under former manager Mark Hughes – who now is in charge of the Saints.
With the Potters set for a Championship campaign, many of their players will be potentially available for a move and it remains to be seen if the Saints can seal a switch for this man.
Cameron did enjoy good form at times under Hughes and was arguably the Potters’ best player at points under the Welshman.
He’s getting on but if he can replicate such form next season he might be a shrewd signing.
