A host of Premier League sides are taking a closer look at Middlesbrough player Marcus Tavernier ahead of the summer transfer window, Football League World has been told.
Middlesbrough have missed out on the Sky Bet Championship play-offs this season after and will now need to focus on trying to add to their squad in the summer to put together a renewed challenge for the top six at the very least.
However, given they face another season in the second tier now, there is obviously the chance that some of their better players could leave in the coming transfer window and Marcus Tavernier is on the radar of several sides.
Football League World has been told Brighton and Hove Albion, Southampton, Wolves and Bournemouth are all among the clubs taking a look at him at the moment, and so a war for his signature could well be in the offing.
The 23-year-old has made 43 starts in the Championship this season for Boro, scoring five goals and assisting another five, it’s clear his displays this season could well earn him a move to the top flight even if Boro are set to stay put for another season themselves in the second tier.
