West Ham United are impressed with Conor Coventry and his performances out on loan at MK Dons, and could opt to offer him a first-team chance in east London next season - Football League World understands.

MK Dons have been flying along this year under Liam Manning and look a pretty decent bet to win promotion into the Sky Bet Championship.

Certainly, they have the quality in their squad to achieve such an aim with Coventry playing an important part so far in what they have done this season, and with him also clearly excelling - as many have this year - under Manning's stewardship.

That all said, West Ham are very impressed with the way Coventry has developed and could be willing to give him a shot at getting involved in the first-team under David Moyes next season.

However, if they do opt to send him out on loan next year, this site has also been told that MK Dons have done a good job of putting themselves at the front of the queue for retaining him for a little while longer, especially if they do seal a spot in the second tier for 22/23.

Clearly, Coventry is on an upward trajectory at the moment.
