Former Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder and ex-Bournemouth manager Scott Parker are both being considered as replacements for Steve Bruce at West Bromwich Albion, Football League World can exclusively reveal.

The Championship club announced this morning that Bruce had been relieved of his duties after a poor start to the season – with the Baggies in the relegation zone after 13 games.

Albion have confirmed that their search for his replacement is underway and sources have exclusively informed FLW that Wilder and Parker are being considered.

Both have experience winning promotion from the Championship, which will be the target for whoever takes over at The Hawthorns.

Wilder, who took Sheffield United from League One to the Premier League, was sacked by Middlesbrough last Monday after the Teessiders' slow start to the season and amid suggestions that his relationship with owner Steve Gibson had become strained.

A difficult start to life back in the Premier League saw Parker was relieved of his duties at Bournemouth less than a month into the new season but the former England international does have a good record in the second tier – having won promotion with both Fulham and the Cherries.

Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence, and Alex Bruce have departed alongside the manager, meaning U21s boss Richard Beale will take charge of first-team responsibilities with the assistance of James Morrison and Gary Walsh.

West Brom are not in action again until Saturday when they take on Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
