Preston North End are in talks with Brad Potts over a new contract at Deepdale, a source has exclusively revealed to Football League World.

Potts, 27, has been on the books with Preston since January 2019 when Alex Neil swooped to sign him from Barnsley.

The midfielder has only 12 months remaining on the three-and-a-half year deal he signed with Preston, which has led to the club holding talks with him over new terms.

A source has revealed to Football League World that Preston are currently locked in discussions with regard to extending his stay in Lancashire.

Potts has made 91 appearances for North End since arriving from Barnsley, returning nine goals in that time, five of which came last season in the Championship as Preston eventually finished 13th under the guide of Frankie McAvoy, who replaced Neil following his departure.

In the coming season, Potts will be expected to bring up his 100th appearance for North End, who are keen to ensure there's many more to come with a new contract.

Prior to his current spell with Preston, the midfielder has played for Barnsley and Blackpool, after starting his senior career with Carlisle United.
